Into the Heart of Things

I didn't come to this work simply because I was fascinated by psychology, although I certainly am.

I came to it because, at a certain point in my life, finding a path toward healing and wholeness became a necessity.

Having lived through significant trauma and its aftermath, I knew intimately what it was like to feel lost in the darker corners of the psyche. The shame, the self-sabotage, the ways we disconnect from ourselves in order to survive. If I was going to find my way toward a different kind of life, I needed to understand how healing actually happens.

And so began what has become nearly two decades of deep devotion to that question.

What I didn't expect was that somewhere along the way, I would fall in love with the art of healing and transformation itself. With the extraordinary complexity of the human psyche, the mystery of transformation, and the profound intimacy of accompanying another person through their own unfolding.

What began as a necessity became a calling. And these days, there's almost nothing that lights me up more than a good session with a client.

A Wilderness Guide for the Psyche

I know the territory of the deep psyche because I have traveled through it so many times, eventually learning how to be less afraid of the sounds and shadows and then finding the skills needed to not only help you make your way through, but connect deeply to something greater while you do.

What you will feel when you work with me is not the energy of someone dispensing theoretically good advice from their intellectual knowing. Instead, you will feel a depth of compassion, an embodied wisdom and a keen intuition that has been sculpted by walking through many challenges with eyes wide open.

While our work can take us into some very tender places, there's also plenty of room for laughter and light-heartedness.

I bring my experience, training, intuition, and wholehearted attention to our work. My role is to help you develop a deeper relationship with your own inner wisdom, and discover what becomes possible when you begin to trust it.

My Background
& Approach

My formal education includes a BA in Anthropology and an MA in Counseling Psychology.

I've spent nearly two decades immersed in the study and practice of trauma healing and personal transformation, with additional training in experiential, somatic, and attachment-based approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Coherence Therapy, and elements of Hakomi and Somatic Experiencing.

These approaches help us move beyond simply talking about our experiences, creating opportunities to encounter ourselves differently and transform longstanding emotional patterns.

I also offer psychedelic preparation and integration, supporting people in approaching these experiences with intention and care, and helping them make meaning of what emerges.

My work is also deeply informed by Jungian and depth psychology, contemplative and mystical traditions, and a love of the natural world, including herbalism and ecopsychology practices.

All of these influences find their way into my work, but no particular method matters more to me than the person sitting across from me. Ultimately, it's the quality of our connection, and the care, curiosity, and wholehearted presence we bring to it, that makes the deeper work possible.
